Hot Flash! Molly Shannon's SNL Darling Sally O'Malley Re-Emerges at Gypsy of the Year

She's 50 and fabulous and taking on Broadway! On December 7 Promises, Promises' star Molly Shannon surprised audiences at the annual Gypsy of the Year event by bringing back Sally O'Malley, a favorite character from her days on Saturday Night Live. During their skit, the cast of Promises, Promises staged an audition for backup dancers for a concert featuring the show's own leading lady, Kristin Chenoweth. The New Amsterdam Theatre erupted in screams when Shannon's alter-ego, Ms. O'Malley, stepped onstage kicking-high with her signature line "I'm 50!" and begged to audition.
